Kurdish Leader: Biden's Commitments to Protect Kurdistan Security 'Just Words'

A key Kurdish leader, Mahmoud Othman, considers the commitments made by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden following his visit to the Kurdish region to protect it after the withdrawal of the U.S. forces as nothing more than words "with no relationship to reality."

He stressed that the Kurdish street harbors negative views about the Americans for their failure to condemn repeated violations of their border [by Iran and Turkey.]

He said the security of the Kurdish region will be maintained by the Kurdish militia, the Peshmerga, regardless whether the U.S. forces leave or stay.
